Fronius Load Management to Control Your Electric Hot Water System

October 22, 2020

Are you looking at installing a Fronius Inverter and have an Electric Hot Water system? Read on, this may save you thousands over the life of your solar system.

When you install a Fronius Inverter and Fronius Smart Meter you have the option to use the Load Management function. This function allows you to control your hot water system as if it were a Solar Hot Water Unit. When your inverter hits a certain production level, for example, 3500w this turns on the relay and starts to heat your hot water. If your inverter doesn’t reach this, the hot water will not heat. A bypass switch is installed so that you can heat the hot water on demand.

As you can see in the below image, the Hot Water only starts to heat when the inverter hits 3500w, enough power to heat the hot water tank.
